Woman robbed of valuables worth R300 000 in Gallo Manor Country Lodge

GALLO MANOR – A robbery took place on 8 July at Gallo Manor Country Lodge, in Canterbury Crescent, where a woman was threatened and R300 000 worth of possessions were stolen.

A robbery took place on the afternoon of 8 July at Gallo Manor Country Lodge, in Canterbury Crescent, where a woman was threatened and R300 000 worth of possessions were stolen.

Police spokesperson Constable David Mothapo said a case had been opened and was under investigation.

Mothapo said, “At 12.03 the complainant alleges that she was approached by two men carrying a black suitcase. One pointed a firearm at the woman and demanded cash and access to the safe while the other suspect showed her a knife and threatened to rape her if she did not comply with instructions.

“The men then tied her with a cable and ransacked the house stealing novel trio Mandela coins, a portable safe containing legal documents and jewellery.”

Gallo Manor Country Lodge refused to comment when contacted by the Sandton Chronicle.
