Bicycle recovered by Sandton police in Rivonia, officers seek owner

SANDTON – An expensive bicycle was recently recovered by police and the owner is yet to claim his or her property.

An expensive bicycle was recovered by Sandton police in Rivonia on 17 June and officers are searching for the owner.

According to Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for Sandton Police Station, the bicycle was left on Rivonia Road at about 5am.

“The suspect dropped the bicycle and fled on foot when he spotted the police,” said Mothapo.

He said the owner must be able to produce pictures of the bicycle with him or her in the photograph. “They should also describe any specific markings or engravings on the bicycle before viewing it.”

An affidavit will be taken from the owner and an identity document and proof of residence will be needed.
