A new app has been created that allows you to alert your nearest police officer whenever you need assistance.
The Namola app, recently launched in Gauteng after success in the city of Tshwane, uses GPS technology to pinpoint your location and help police to reach you faster. The app also resolves accuracy and language problems that individuals may experience when calling police over the phone.

A control centre manages the logistics and ensures you receive help in the fastest time possible.
It is the fastest-growing safety app in South Africa and promises a call-back time of under 90 seconds – a potential solution to the outcry regarding police response time in communities.
Namola ambassador, Yusuf Abramjee said in a video statement, “We know crime is a problem in South Africa. We know police times are often very slow – 10111 centres are often blocked. Namola is a world-first technology based on the same principal as Uber, where the nearest vehicle respond. In the event of a crime you take up the new weapon in the fight against crime, which is your smartphone and within 90 seconds they will respond.”
Chairman of the Sandton CPF, Anthony Modena said, “We are always looking for any technology to help reduce or prevent crime in the community. Namola allows a quick response for assistance when people need help. We are hoping this will curb vehicle-related crimes and home invasion. We want to make Sandton the safest place for the community and visitors.”
