‘Mutts’ to raise funds for Community Led Animal Welfare and Sandton SPCA

SANDTON – An innovative way to raise funds for animal shelters.

Two animal lovers have come up with an innovative way to raise funds for the Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw) and Sandton SPCA.

Mutts – the ultimate coffee table book for dog lovers – will promote adopting dogs rather than buying them from breeders, as well raise much-needed funds.

Mutts will showcase various breeds of dog such as Kingston.

Creators of the book, Emma O’Brien and Paula Graham, are seeking the necessary funds to self-publish. O’Brien and Graham have 45 days to raise R155 000 in order to self-publish their book.

Once published, all proceeds from book sales will be divided between Claw and Sandton SPCA with an estimated R30 000 donated to each charity from the sale of 500 books.

O’Brien said, “This is very much a passion project for me, and my aim is to raise awareness about the number of mixed-breed dogs that sit in shelters and to encourage people to adopt rather than buy dogs.”

Mutts will showcase the incredible variety and beauty of mixed-breed dogs, as well as offer readers a glimpse into their heroic stories of love and second chances.

The purpose of Mutts is to raise awareness about the number of mixed-breed dogs that sit in shelters such as Mia.

“Each and every Mutt is unique and the book will be a way to showcase this as well as telling each dog’s happy ending adoption story.”
