The Gauteng MEC for Education, Panyaza Lesufi will officially announce the much-anticipated 2018 admissions period and demonstrate the online learner admission system on 25 April at the Gauteng Department of Education.
The online learner admission period for 2018 will officially commence on 2 May and close on 12 June.

The purpose of the briefing is to highlight what the department has done differently this year, following the online admission experience last year and provide the admission requirements.
The department will also demonstrate the ease with which parents can apply for admissions in 2018.
“The campaign has been a relative success, however, with some challenges. A substantial number of learners, around 80 per cent, were placed by August last year,” Lesufi said. “Furthermore, 19 000 new applications were received from the 62 walk-in centres that the department had set up in January. We are pleased to announce that the number of unplaced learners has been eliminated to zero,” added Lesufi.
