The Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton is recognised for its green ways

SANDTON – The Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton is awarded the Meetings Africa Green Award for their practices and actions to protect the environment.

 

The Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton was recently awarded the Meetings Africa Green Award.

The award was presented by the Deputy Minister of Tourism and the chief executive officer of South African Tourism, Tokozile Xasa.

The achievement comes in celebration of the hotel’s practices and actions to protect the environment, an accolade which celebrates business sustainability.

The Meetings Africa event was held at Sandton Convention Centre and the presentation was based on the principles of ‘Top 10 tips for greener hotels’.

The event was about a celebration of Africa as a sought-after destination, allowing local businesses to showcase their diverse offerings and products. Workshops, exhibitions and question and answer sessions were also available during the evening.

“We are committed to ensuring 100 per cent of our hotels are eco-labeled. The Radisson Blu Hotel’s carbon neutral meeting and other Think Planet commitments are just some of the initiatives we were able to share at The Meetings Africa event this year,” said Volkan Vural, general manager of The Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton.

“We are so proud to receive this award, recognising our reputation as a sustainable, environmentally-friendly establishment. Long may our efforts continue,” concluded Vural.
