Sandton’s Seya Sefako has a full-time job, is a full-time mom, full-time wife and full-time beauty queen

Seya Sefako is a true modern-day wonder woman, and one of the 2017 Mrs South Africa semi-finalists.

“I live in Riverclub Sandton. I’m a mother of two energetic boys and I’m married to a wonderful husband who gives me all the support in the world. I work as an aviation insurance broker and I have a passion for charity work, especially involving children,” said Sefako. She has been involved in beauty pageants from a young age and thought that life was behind her when she got married and had children.

However, this vivacious mom of two still has a passion for the limelight, only this time, it’s not about the tiaras and flowers, but about the empowerment of women. “I entered Mrs SA because I wanted to show my children and other women out there that it’s never too late to live your dreams and awaken that inner child. Mrs SA is not a pageant, it’s a women empowerment platform. It’s a sisterhood. I hope to empower other young women and make a difference in the lives of South Africans.”

Sefako is also using this platform for the unsung superwomen of our society to push her work in philanthropy. ” I spend my birthdays giving to needy children and I participate in the take-a-girl-child-to-work movement. I think we are all here to serve a purpose and to contribute positively to the lives of others.”
