Crawford College Sandton Debating

SANDTON – Crawford College Sandton debating teams is competing in the SACEE league which ends in May.

 

Debating at Crawford College Sandton was revived in 2016 and the newly formed teams took on the year with zest, determination and perseverance.

Senior team: Sandton White comprises Sifa Djuma, Adam Kirsch, Arielle Traub, Rinya Singh and Neha Maharaj.

The school participated in The South African Council for English Education (SACEE) League, British Parliamentary Debating and Johannesburg Model United Nations which was held by the American International School. The junior team of 2016 proceeded to the Championship round of SACEE where they lost in the semi-final. Joshua Jankelow was ranked third best speaker in Gauteng. Rinya Singh went on to make the Gauteng team and won Best Junior National Speaker. She is currently preparing for South African Trials.

Senior team: Sandton Red comprises Aurielle Tiemoko, Riov Ramsgate, Joshua Jankelow, Blake Stephens and Maia Traub.

2017 kicked off with Crawford hosting the SACEE Debating Workshop on 31 January. Senior SACEE League kicked off on 4 March and our Junior League kicked off on 11 March. SACEE league ends in May. Crawford College Sandton wishes their debaters the very best for the remainder of the tournament.
