The Angel Network is hosting a special comedy show fundraiser on 22 April at the Barnyard Rivonia to raise much-needed funds for the Glenhazel-based organisation Impilo Child Protection and Adoption services.
Co-director of the Angel Network, Glynne Wolman said, “Impilo opened their doors to their first baby on 1 November 2003. Since then, over 3 000 children and families have benefited from their services. Now they need our help. With the current economic climate, Impilo is in very real danger of shutting their doors and we cannot sit back and allow this to happen.”
She added that for 13 years the organisation had provided a safe haven and services to orphaned, vulnerable and abandoned children, providing them with temporary shelter, social work services and loving care, while awaiting placement with permanent families. “Impilo’s children are given hope and the chance of a new life, a chance to shine by a team of dedicated, committed professionals and carers.”
Wolman said, “Thanks to some amazingly generous donors including The Dis-Chem Foundation, Wiphold and 36One, all funds raised from the event will go directly to Impilo to keep its doors open to those babies in need.”
The show is expected to be a hilarious affair with comedians such as English-born Mark Banks and John Vlismas.
