A guard was wounded in the arm following a shootout with suspects after a house robbery at a residence in Rivonia.

According to Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, “A female domestic worker was busy cleaning the house when she was attacked by five armed suspects. The suspects tied the domestic up with socks.”

He said that they then continued to ransack the house and managed to get away with valuables such as a TV, jewelry, Playstation and a firearm.

“On their way out they came across 7 Arrows security who tried to stop the suspects. The suspects shot at the security and wounded a guard in the arm,” said Mothapo.

The guard has been taken to hospital. “The suspect drove a silver/grey Volvo and are still at large,” said Mothapo.
