A man believed to be in his early 20s died in an alleged suicide at Logan street in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics were notified by police about the incident at 5pm on 27 February.

ER24 Spokesperson Annine Dormehl said, “At the time of their arrival, ER24 paramedics found the man with a self-inflicted wound to the head lying on the pavement with a firearm next to him. Unfortunately there was nothing the paramedics could do to help him and he was declared dead on the scene.”

Dormehl mentioned that reports say the man had warned his friends of a plan to commit suicide moments before he was found dead in the street. The road was closed off and local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.

Sandton Police are yet to comment on the matter.
