The Sandton Community Policing Forum for Sector 3 is looking for community-minded individuals for various positions on its committee.
The CPF has vacancies for the following positions: chairperson, vice-chairperson and secretary chairperson.
The position of chairperson requires strong leadership and a commitment to the safety of the Sandton community. This individual will be required to ensure effective functioning of the committee, provide clear leadership and direction, and keep the committee focused on its core functions. Excellent community liaison skills and management experience will also be highly beneficial.
The vice-chairperson position requires strong leadership and an ability to assume the role and responsibilities of the chairperson when necessary. Excellent community liaison skills, maturity and a level-headed approach will be beneficial. The secretary position requires strong secretarial and administration skills, attention to detail and the ability to interact at all levels.
All nominees are required to undergo police clearance to qualify and the general public is welcome to submit nominations that meet the selection criteria. The elections and voting for the three positions will take place at the Sandton CPF Sector 3 community meeting on 16 February in the boardroom of the Sandton Police Station, 2 Summit Road, Morningside, Sandton.
The Sector 3 precinct includes Benmore Gardens, Dalecross, Dennehof, Duxberry, Hurlpark, Little Filian, Moodie Hill, Morningside, Morningside Manor, Morningside Ext 40, New Brighton, Parkmore, Sandown, Sandhurst, Strathavon and Sunset Acres. The above vacancies would be of special interest to those living or working in these suburbs. Nominations and voting will only be applicable to eligible persons.
Sandton CPF Sector 3 community meetings are held every third Thursday of each month at 6pm in the Sandton boardroom.
