SANDTON – The quick response by Sandton Police Station led to the arrest of an alleged drug dealer.

 

A quick response by Sandton Police Station led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man who was allegedly dealing drugs in Bryanston on 5 January.

Illegal contraband and a weapon are found by police officers.

According to Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for Sandton Police Station, “The suspect was arrested along Devonshire Avenue in Bryanston around 4.30pm and found in possession of dagga and a knife.”

The arrest followed a tip-off from a local security company patrolling the area.

Constable Morris Kgasago and Constable Esau Sambo made the arrest.

“The suspect was found in possession of 158 grammes of dagga and a dangerous weapon and will appear in court soon,” said Mothapo.

The quick reaction to the tip-off by Constable Morris Kgasago and Constable Esau Sambo, who recently found the two missing teenagers from Pretoria in Sandton, led to the successful arrest.

The suspect will be charged with drug possession and possession of a dangerous weapon.
