Bryanston High School achieved an overall pass rate of 98.2 per cent, a 76.21 per cent Bachelor’s Degree pass rate and 158 distinctions overall.
“We are proud to say that we are included in the 41.9 per cent of schools who achieved a pass rate of 80 to 100 per cent in 2016. The national pass rate for 2016 has been announced to be 76.2 per cent. Bryanston High School achieved a 98.2 per cent pass rate, which is still well above the national and Gauteng provinces’ pass rate which stands at 87 per cent,” said Lauren Streng, spokesperson for the school.

The top 10 matriculants include:
- Paayal Naiker, the school’s top achiever, who achieved eight distinctions.
Naiker received 91 per cent for English, 83 per cent for Afrikaans, 95 per cent for mathematics, 90 per cent for life orientation, 94 per cent for accounting, 91 per cent for information technology, 93 per cent for life science and 93 per cent for physical science. - Sheoree Suklal received seven distinctions for English, mathematics, life orientation, accounting, dramatic arts, life science and physical science.
- Kirthin Bedessie, Makabongwe Kaseke and Amy Thompson all achieved six distinctions. Bedessie achieved distinctions in mathematics, life orientation, accounting, geography, life sciences and physical science, while Kaseke achieved distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, history and life sciences.
Thompson achieved distinctions English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, dramatic arts and life sciences. - Michael Alves, Sherodeen Devalogan, Kristina Marinkovic and Priyantha Naicker all received five distinctions.
Alves excelled in Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, engineering graphics and design and life sciences; Devalogan received distinctions in mathematics, life orientation, accounting, life sciences and physical science.
Marinkovic received distinctions in English, mathematics, life orientation, history and life science while Naicker received distinctions in English, mathematics, life orientation, geography and life science. - Madison Ramsay and Jordan Read both achieved four distinctions with Ramsay excelling in English, life orientation, history and visual arts and Read receiving distinctions in Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation and life science.
