Missing teens found

SANDTON – The Sandton Police recently had great success with 15 arrests and finding two missing minors from Pretoria.

 

Two officers from the Sandton Police Station recently found two teenagers who were reported missing from Pretoria in Rivonia.

Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station said, “The two teenagers, both aged 15, said they were heading to the Mall of Africa. When they did not return they were reported as missing.

“We received a tip-off that they were in Rivonia and mobilised officers to search for them.”

Constable Morris Kgasago and Constable Essau Sambo spotted the teenagers and took them in and they were safely handed back to their families.

In addition to the missing persons, the Sandton police had great successes the past weekend with a total of 15 suspects arrested for various crimes.

Mothapo said, “A total of 15 suspects were arrested for various crimes from murder to shoplifting in the Sandton area.”

The 15 arrests included:

  • Four people for shoplifting
  • Three for cases of fraud
  • Three for theft
  • One suspect for bilking (withholding money owed)
  • One for domestic violence/assault
  • Two suspects for common robbery
  • One suspect for murder.
