Rolex gang strikes again

WOODMEAD – A man was robbed of his Rolex watch and iPhone in the Woodmead Retail Park.

Another case of watch theft has come to light after a man was robbed of his Rolex and iPhone at Woodmead Retail Park.

Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station said, “The incident occurred just before 2pm. The victim was getting out of his car in the shopping centre when he was approached by two males, one of which was armed with a gun.”

Mothapo added that shots were fired, but no one was injured. “The suspects took his Rolex watch and iPhone and fled in an Audi A4.”

He added that a struggle ensued and the victim was hit on the head with the butt of the gun and one shot was fired, but no one was shot. “The suspects took his Rolex watch and iPhone and fled in an Audi.”
Mothapo said that the value of the items stolen was about R400 000.

A manager at the Pro Shop in Woodmead confirmed the incident took place and that no one was hurt.
