Construction worker drowns in bathtub

A construction worker died at a construction site in Sandton, where apartments are currently being built, after he fell into a bathtub filled with water on 15 November.

Netcare911 paramedics arrived on the scene and initiated cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), however, nothing could be done for the man who was declared dead at the scene by a Netcare911 paramedic.

“The resuscitation attempts went on for some time, but sadly there was nothing more that could be done for the man,” said Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare911.

The incident happened at 9am in the morning and it is unclear how the man fell into the bath.
The matter is under investigation by the police.
