High school pupils talk transport

JOBURG - In 2005 October was declared Transport Month during the Transport Lekgotla. The Sandton Chronicle caught up with two Bryanston High School pupils to ask them about their mode of transport to and from school and its benefits.

This year Transport Month will be hosted under the theme: “Together we move South Africa Forward.”

Spokesperson for Bryanston High School, Lauren Streng, said the difference in transport among all their pupils is proof of the school’s diversity and ability to attract pupils from all communities, whether it be down the road or a 15-minute drive.

Grade 11 pupils Madison Ramsey and Alec Glanvill travel in different ways, with Ramsey taking a quick walk every day while Glanvill is dropped off by his father in the morning and rides his bike home after school. They both said the freedom and independence these modes of transport offer is of great benefit.
