Businessman runs for charity

SANDTON – A Sandton businessman will compete in the Rhino Peak Challenge.

A businessman and runner from Sandton will compete in the Rhino Peak Challenge taking place on World Rhino Day on 22 September.

Alexander Babich has been putting in some extra hill training on a private reserve in Limpopo. “It’s amazing how it makes you focus on the task at hand when you are not sure what animal is behind a sudden rustle or snort in the surrounding bush,” said Babich.

“The adrenalin certainly gives impetus to fleetness of foot.”

The Rhino Peak Challenge in the Maloti Drakensberg is for rhinos and other animals affected by the severe drought. “Running is my passion and by tackling Rhino Peak in the Drakensberg, I and all the other participants are aiming to raise funds for the Endangered Wildlife Trust as well as creating awareness of the importance of conserving our precious endangered rhinos,” said Alex.

The event is organised by Running Man Adventures and all funds are channelled through the Endangered Wildlife Trust in support of rhinos and the bearded vulture.

People can make pledges from R1 and up.
