How to report faulty streetlights in Parkmore

PARKMORE – The Parkmore Community Association shares tips on how to report faulty streetlights in the community.

The Parkmore Community Association (PCA) said that one of the most common concerns in the suburb is faulty street lights.

The association stated that it regularly reports faulty street lights, but that it is difficult to get City Power to attend to issues. Residents are urged to report any street lights that are out on the City Power web fault reporting platform. The more issues are reported, the greater chance the issues will be seen to and streetlights repaired.

When reporting, it is also helpful to email the reference number to the association so members of the association can escalate the matter to the ward councillor.

The PCA regularly reports potholes to the Johannesburg Roads Agency hotline.

The agency has promised that repairs will start this week, including the repair of the potholes situated on the bottom of 13th Avenue and Mattie Street, as well as the repainting of road lines and markings.

Residents can also help by emailing concerns about any problematic roads and erosion on riverbanks to hotline@jra.org.za.

Water issues such as sewer leaks or burst pipes should be reported by emailing customer services at Joburg Water.

The PCA stated that the turnaround time for all issues is 48 hours. If it has been longer than 48 hours, residents can email the association with the reference number so that they can escalate the matter.
