‘DA have entered into coalitions’ – Maimane

SANDTON - The Democratic Alliance have entered into coalitions with COPE, ACDP, FF+ and UDM.

Following the EFF’s announcement that they would not form coalitions with the DA or ANC, leader of the DA Mmusi Maimane said that the party has entered into coalitions COPE, ACDP, FF+ and UDM.

This was announced at a press conference held at the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Sandton on 17 August, attended by figures such as Mosioua Lekota of COPE.

Maimane added that they have also reached an agreement with the IFP and though there will be no coalition between the DA and EFF, he welcomes the fellow oppositions vote. He said, “We talked to EFF but we could not form a coalition because of big ideological differences”

Maimane said that parties will still remain independent and the coalitions are not a merger.
