Bryanston High races to the top

BRYANSTON – Bryanston High School performs well at recent athletics meeting.

 

Bryanston High School recently hosted its second athletics meeting of the season with A league schools including Hyde Park High School and Fourways High School participating in the sporting event.

A phenomenal day was had on the track and each of the athletes from the various teams put their hearts and souls into their respective races. Bryanston High School came out victorious taking first place overall with an 11-point lead over Fourways High School, who placed second ahead of Hyde Park High School in third.

The start of the 2016 athletics season has already seen success for Bryanston High School’s athletic team as they began the season winning the Torch Trophy Competition.

This competition is an annual event which started in 1966 and is a historical racing event involving Hyde Park High School, Greenside High School, Queens High School and Bryanston High School. The historical event was then followed by the first athletics meeting of the season for A League competitors on 4 August.

The first athletics meeting saw Northcliff High School placing first with Bryanston High School following closely behind in second place; Randpark High School in third place followed by Krugersdorp High School in fourth place.
