Crawford College Sandton’s pupils showcased their talent at a choir festival held at St Mary’s College in celebration of Mandela Day.
Spokesperson for Crawford, Christelle Wolmarans said, “Choirs were asked to prepare items in the spirit of the day and then to join in a mass choir for the closing items and National Anthem.
Crawford College Sandton has an established partnership with Fidelitas High School from Soweto and the two schools created a joint choir for this special festival.
“A number of choirs performed at the festival but the Crawford-Fidelitas choir, with their renditions of a Xhosa hymn, a Hebrew piece and Hallelujah, were the only choir to receive a standing ovation. We are tremendously proud of the students who participated and look forward to the next event.”
