Bryanston High’s got spirit

BRYANSTON – The Bryanston High School cheerleading team takeS third place at the nationals in Bloemfontein

 

The cheerleading teams of Bryanston High School took on some hefty competition from around the country at the annual National Cheerleading Competition held in Bloemfontein on 2 and 3 July.

Bryanston High School had four teams that competed, including their All Girls team, the Bryanston Stars and the Co-ed team, Bryanston Magic. The school also had their Group Stunt and Partner Stunt teams at the competition.

All teams placed on the podium at the end of the competition with the Partner Stunts team having earned silver medals, while all the other teams earned bronze medals with stellar performances.

Marketing co-ordinator Lauren Streng said, “These phenomenal results mean that Bryanston High School was placed third overall, making Team Bryanston third in the country in cheerleading.”

Head coach and head of cheerleading at Bryanston High, Carryn Davidson said, “The teams have put in a lot of great effort throughout the season and I am proud to see them improve with each display. Taking third place at nationals is a great achievement and something each member of the 2016 squad can be proud of.”

Streng added, “On behalf of Bryanston High School, we would like to say a very big thank you to the team of cheerleading coaches at Bryanston High School who have practised with the squad and put in many long hours to make these results a realisation. It really is an outstanding achievement and we could not be more proud.”
