Concert for little fighter

JOBURG – A concert will be held to raise funds for six-year-old Ayaan Bhoopal who suffers from a severe heart condition.

Living with a heart defect, Buccleuch Primary School pupil, Ayaan Bhoopal is no ordinary six-year-old and is determined to live a normal, fulfilled life.

Bhoopal suffers from, among other medical conditions, a life-threatening heart condition called tricuspid atresia type 2C. He also suffers from pulmonary vein stenosis, which is a condition that affects the blood vessels bringing oxygen-rich blood from the lungs back to the heart.

Bhoopal’s mother, Seshma, said that no matter what medical hurdles her son faces, he continues to be strong and never gives up.

Dostana, a traditional Indian music band, has decided to help assist this little fighter and will host a concert on 16 July at 7pm with the aim of highlighting Bhoopal’s journey through life.

The concert’s project manager, Keeran Krishna explained, “A decision was made to create, produce and deliver an event to raise funds towards ongoing medical expenses for baby Ayaan and tickets will be sold for R100.

“He has undergone five open heart surgeries already, endured so much of medical upheaval, yet remains a phenomenal inspiration to anyone he comes into contact with.”

Krishna said he believed Bhoopal ‘deserves the best opportunity of a full life and it is in this spirit that the Dil ki Dhadkan concert [The Beat of a Heart concert] was conceptualised’.

The concert will be held in Sagewood Primary School’s auditorium in Midrand.
