Water interruptions in Bryanston and Marlboro

BRYANSTON – Joburg Water announces planned interruptions in Bryanston and Marlboro.

Joburg Water has announced a planned water interruption in Bryanston and Marlboro on 13 and 14 June.

Spokesperson for Joburg Water, Eleanor Mavimbela said that the water supply across Johannesburg will run as normal, with the reservoir level in a satisfactory position.

However, there will be water interruptions on 166 Bryanston Drive in Bryanston from 9am to 3pm on 13 June with restoration taking place from 3.30pm to 5pm. Marlboro will experience interruptions on Third, Fourth and Fifth streets on 14 June from 9am to 3.30pm with the restoration taking place from 3.30pm to 5pm due to the decommissioning of the old water line in the area.

Mavimbela added, “Due to the colder weather conditions, the stipulated times that residents are not allowed to water and irrigate their gardens has changed from 6am and 6pm to 8am until 4pm every day.”

She said residents are reminded that level-2 water restrictions are still in place, which states, according to Section 44 of the Water Services Bylaws, that consumers should not water or irrigate their gardens between 8am and 4pm every day and consumers should not fill up their pools with municipal water, as well as not to use hosepipes to wash their cars or paved areas.

Mavimbela concluded, “We urge residents to remain active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Johannesburg, and to report any form of vandalism and theft of water infrastructure to 0800 00 25 87.”
