Grease revival at St Stithians

SANDTON – St Stithians College presented a theatrical production of Grease.

Talented St Stithians College dancers, musicians, actors and actresses came together for a production of the world-famous production, Grease.

The director, Lizeth Roux, said, “The production team visualised extraordinary vocal aerobics, discussed the intensity of colours for costumes and sets, listened to the lyrics of all of the songs… and suddenly the opening performance is here.”

She said the flame of inspiration for the production was ignited in November last year and described the show as a light-hearted, toe-tapping musical which offers pupils the opportunity to develop new skills.

Grease is a story of romance and the crux lies in a love affair between the two main characters, Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zuko. These roles were confidently tackled by St Stithians pupils, Katie Groves and James Netherlands.

“Our pupils enjoyed the opportunity for growth, self-discovery and teamwork. New friendships were formed and mutual support for all was offered. Thank you to the pupils who provided moments of joy and laughter and we are very proud of your efforts,” concluded Roux.
