Zuma spends time with grandkids in Parkmore

PARKMORE – President Jacob Zuma visits grandchildren's pre-school.

Though many may know President Jacob Zuma as the leader of South Africa, he is also a family man.

On 27 May, he decided to attend his grandchildren’s annual grandparent and parent tea at their pre-school, FasTrackids, in Parkmore.

Owner and principal, Bernadine Shaw said, “We were so excited to have President Zuma at our school for our annual grandparents and parents event. He came specifically to visit his grandchildren who attend the school and was with his daughter as well.”

She said that there was a lot of security.

“Zuma chatted to me in my office and I spoke to him about his grandchild, who is performing very well in class. She is learning quickly and can now write her own name. It was wonderful to see how interested he was in their education. He definitely values an education.”

Shaw said that the parents, grandparents and children were all extremely excited to meet him and felt that it was an honour to have him at the school.

She concluded, “I am sure that he had a busy day but still took the time to be at his grandchildren’s event.”
