Help Bramley police solve murder mystery

MARLBORO - Bramley police need assistance in catching five men linked to the murder of Bonani Thuma in Marlboro.

The tragic event unfolded when a Bramley police officer was alerted to a shooting incident in the area.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, said that when the officer arrived at the scene, she was approached by residents who pointed out Thuma lying face down on the street.

“The officer then called for an ambulance and upon arrival, a paramedic certified Thuma as dead,” Maphakela said.

A passerby then informed the officer that he had witnessed five armed men attempt to rob the Alexandra resident and when Thuma tried to fight back he was shot. Maphakela added that the passerby was also approached by the same men and assaulted with a firearm.

“We are appealing to the community to come forward with any information related to the incident and help us catch these suspects.”
