Collision on M1 in Sandton leaves 15 injured
SANDTON – A horrific collision occurred on the M1 highway, just before the Grayston Drive offramp in Sandton which left 15 people injured on 15 March.
According to paramedic service Emer-G-Med, a taxi allegedly side-swiped a broken-down vehicle causing it to lose control and roll on the highway. On arrival, paramedics found the taxi on its side with the injured passengers lying on the highway.
A total of 15 passengers were injured with seven given advanced life support before being taken to various medical facilities for further treatment.
The Metro police were on the scene and are currently investigating the cause of the crash. Updates to follow.
