Generation Earth highlights youth activism at recent meeting

BENMORE GARDENS – Environmental awareness organisation, Generation Earth, which guides and develops young activists of South Africa, recently hosted one of their regional meetings in Sandton.

The meeting, hosted by the north region of Generation Earth, took place at Crawford College Sandton as a way to encourage school children and university students to start their year with green activations and to get them involved in environmental awareness, activism and volunteerism within their school and community.

Some of the issues discussed included the environmental challenges the organisation would focus on this year and other upcoming events it would host.

The challenges include water management, food security, energy efficiency and waste management, with members encouraged to start a project or campaign on either one of the challenges as a way to raise awareness and consequently find a green solution to problems.

Other upcoming events for the organisation include the Youth Summit and Youth Expo, both set to take place during the year.
