Books and bottles of water

SANDTON - The pupils and teachers at Buckets and Books Nursery School teamed up with Elliott Mobility to donate water for those suffering from the current drought.

The initiative is led by moving company Elliott Mobility, along with Water Shortage South Africa, who have called on the local community to collect water in bottles which will be transported to their warehouses all over the country. The water will be handed to people who have been struck heavily by the water shortage.

Sales executive at Elliott Mobility, Lauren Kruger said, “We are not talking only about farmers who are struggling with the shortage but also young children at schools who don’t see a drop. You’re talking about the elderly at old age homes, hospices and clinics.

“These donations are really making a difference.”

Principal of Buckets and Books Nursery School, Corrinne Freeman said that the school had let the families at the school know about the water drive which was embraced by everyone involved.

Freeman added that the school has used the drive as a way to educate their pupils about the scarcity of water in South Africa and about ways to save water while at home.

After the little ones brought their contributions, the water was collected by Elliott Mobility, moved to their various warehouses and donated to smaller communities.
