Ajman Free Zone comes to Hyde Park

HYDE PARK - A strengthening in the business partnership between South Africa and the United Arab Emirates occurred on 2 March with the opening of the Ajman Free Zone office in Hyde Park.

Attended by a number of leading dignitaries in the South African business world, the event acted as an introduction to the services offered by the Ajman Free Zone and the benefits it could offer to South Africa.

The Ajman Free Zone is a free-trade zone established in 1988 situated in Ajman, one of seven emirates in the United Arab Emirates located on the Arabian Peninsula and in the Persian Gulf. It is an advantageous hub which allows businesses from all over the world to establish themselves in a tax exempt and affordable area which gives businesses 100 percent ownership of their purchased establishment while offering competitive prices in leasing and utilities.

The opening offered all in attendance an inside look into the workings of the Ajman Free Zone. Sales and marketing director at the Ajman Free Zone, Rishi Somaiya, said that they look forward to creating a bilateral trade relationship between the United Arab Emirates and South Africa and hope that local business will enjoy their trading opportunities with the Free Zone.

Director general of the Ajman Free Zone, Mahmood Khalil Al Hashemi, added that the zone already has good relations with the South African business world but is looking to strengthen them in the future.
