24 busted by Sandton police for various crimes

SANDTON – Sandton police officers recently arrested 24 people for various crimes committed within the precinct, ranging from theft and drunken driving to malicious damage to property.

 

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Sandton Police Station, explained that 11 people were arrested for driving under the influence.

“The police also arrested seven people for theft, one for house robbery and another for common robbery,” Maphakela said.

One person was arrested for malicious damage to property, another for reckless and negligent driving and two for carjacking. Maphakela confirmed that the suspects were detained at Sandton Police Station and were charged for the various crimes.

“They have all since made an appearance in court to face the various offences they were charged with.”
