Uber and Cricket SA for Breast Cancer Awareness at Wanderers

ILLOVO – Cricket South Africa recently partnered with Uber in support of the PinkDrive and breast cancer awareness at the upcoming fourth Momentum ODI between the Castle Lager Proteas and England.

The clash will take place at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium on 12 February and will see the Protea cricket switch their green attire for the day for a pink one.

Cricket SA chief executive officer, Haroon Lorgat, commended Uber for their involvement in making a difference in society.

“Congratulations to Uber for joining in on this initiative, which is part of cricket’s broader responsibility within society; everyone involved [also] deserves special thanks for their support of this initiative,” he said.

Adding to this was Alon Lits, general manager in Sub-Saharan Africa for Uber Technologies, who explained that joining the initiative was a way to make a difference, with such an important issue, and show their users how easy it was to contribute.

He added that the aim was to raise R1 Million from activities at the traditional Pink ODI match in support of the work done by PinkDrive for breast cancer awareness.
