Great turnout at first Sandton CPF Sector 4 meeting of the year

KELVIN – The first Sandton Community Police Forum (CPF) Sector 4 meeting of the year, which took place in Kelvin on 28 January, started off on a good note with an increase in participation from the police, security companies operating in the sector, the ward councillor and residents of Buccleuch, Kelvin, Linbro and Wendywood.

Some of the issues tackled in the meeting comprised crime incidents and squatters in the sector. The CPF urged residents to report squatters to Metro police, who are best equipped to deal with them and implored attendees not to feed them.

Residents were cautioned against letting strangers onto their property and were also urged to contact their security companies and sector police vehicle in an emergency.

Sandton police encouraged community members to profile their domestic helpers and receive clearance for them from the local police station. Additionally, members were urged to consider enrolling their domestic staff in the Make A Difference Domestic Watch programme, which takes place on the second last Wednesday of every month at the Christ Church in Wendywood.
