Sandton police wish residents a festive Christmas

SANDTON - The Sandton community was urged to remain vigilant as they celebrate the festive season.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Sandton police, assured residents that the police would focus on keeping residents and their property safe during this period.

“Those who will be travelling should ensure their homes are secured appropriately and should alert their neighbours to keep watch for them, and provide the neighbours with their contact details just in case there is a need to be contacted, ” he said.

Additionally, residents were cautioned against falling victim to scammers, who would be looking to take advantage of shoppers during the December holidays.

Maphakela urged residents to ensure they were not followed to the bank or anywhere while shopping, and to also remain aware of who was next to them in the bank.

He concluded by wishing residents a restful period ahead of the new year, and urged them not to drink and drive.
