New post office confirmed for Sloane Square

BRYANSTON – Residents frustrated by the ongoing issues facing the Bryanston Post Office will soon be able to access their mail.

This according to Cameron MacKenzie, DA Member of Parliament for the Fourways constituency and the Shadow Deputy Minister for Telecommunications and Postal Services, who confirmed that a new branch will be opened at Sloane Square which is expected to be operational on 21 December this year.

“Bryanston residents will be able to access their mail there,” he said.

“Sapo [South African Post Office] has made provision for boxes there and the plan is that all boxes currently located at Bryanston will be re-opened at Sloane.”

MacKenzie explained the reason for slow delivery of mail to post boxes located at the Bryanston Shopping Centre, saying this was allegedly due to the landlord refusing Sapo access to the centre. This meant that Sapo had to process the mail elsewhere which made the process slower.

Sapo had not responded to questions sent by Sandton Chronicle by the time of going to press.
