Bramley CPF wishes community well

JOBURG - With this year coming to an end, Bramley Community Police Forum (CPF) chairman, Harvey Phalatse, encouraged the community to be actively involved in combating crime within the community.

Phalastse has been part of the Bramley CPF for the past seven years and has made it his mission to create a safer and happier community for all. A very positive Phalastse spoke about the state of crime within the community, however, he stated that even though crime is all around, not all hope is lost.

Even though crime statics have shown a decrease, it does not mean the community should not yearn for a 24-hour safe and secure community, he said.

Phalatse said, “I am, therefore, encouraged by the active participation of all relevant stakeholders within the Bramley precinct for their valuable contribution towards awareness campaigns, numerous CPF meetings and consultative sessions during this year.”

The importance on working together as a community in fighting against crime is a point Phalatse emphasised. “I want to thank my colleagues at the CPF, sector forums, station commander of Bramley police and the entire team,” said Phalatse.

He cautioned all residents to remain vigilant during the festive period.

He advised on the following:

  • Be vigilant in long driveways
  • If you see a suspicious-looking vehicle or person call the police or sector manager immediately
  • When someone rings your doorbell or gate bell, be sure who it is before opening up
  • Keep all doors locked at all times when at home
  • Know your neighbours.

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone within our policing precinct a restful festive period and I look forward to next year with the assurance that all of us will continue to be true beacons of hope in fighting crime and ensuring a safer Bramley precinct,” said Phalatse.
