A helping hand for horses

JOBURG - The Highveld Horse Care Unit in Meyerton recently received a donation of R17 000 from Mark White Nissan in Fourways for animals in the unit's care.

Joanne Pursey from the care unit said the donation will go a long way in helping animals they work with. “Apart from the R7 500 donation, Mark White has sponsored an orphaned foal in our care which needed to be hand-reared; donated R7 500 at the Nissan Easter Show; participated in the Tekkie Tax campaign selling stickers to help raise funds for us; donated their Harry The Horse to be auctioned, and recently donated R17 000.”

Last year, Mark White Nissan also helped the unit purchase three new vehicles.

“We would like to thank Mark White Nissan for their continued support over the last two years,” said Pursey.

Mark White of Mark White Nissan said any cause that helps animals is close to his heart. “The well-being of animals is essential. We are also quite involved with showjumping in South Africa, and give support to neglected horses.”
