National treasury enriched

JOBURG - The Alexandra Police Cluster enriched the national treasury by about R80 000 after the sale of unclaimed stolen items.

This from an auction of recovered stolen goods which included household, office, construction and garden items.

Lieutenant Colonel Ann Pretorius said all the lots were sold in the three-hour bidding process and the money raised would contribute to the national purse for the public’s benefit.

The public attending the auction were thanked by Captain Frank Gerber for their interest. “The goods were recovered from police operations in five cluster policing areas of Midrand, Sandton, Alexandra, Bramley and Sandringham,” he said.

“We normally conduct the auctions every quarter or any time whenever the storage facilities are filled.”
