Youth leader wants to be reality star
MORNINGSIDE – Resident makes it to the top 20 of leadership reality show, One Day Leader.
Zareef Minty (21), who was on the Mail & Guardian 2014 Top 200 Young South Africans list, needs the support of his community to make it to the top of the competition,One Day Leader, which will air on SABC soon. He is also an author and a youth leader.
One Day Leader is a reality show that finds the best young leaders in South Africa, and puts their leadership skills and abilities to the test.
He said participants of the competition were cut down from a total of over 5 000 entries. Minty then made it to the top 90, top 45 and now, the top 20. His goal at the moment is to get into the top six of the competition.
“It might be small steps toward progression and growth but it means the world to me,” he said. “This gives me a platform to share my positivity with the world. This opportunity also gives me the opportunity to re-align the mindset of the youth to a way of thinking that creates opportunities and sustainable progression.”
