BRYANSTON – Following calls for traffic calming measures to curb reckless driving on Halifax Road in Bryanston, councillor for Ward 102, David Potter, said Metro police could possibly set up speed traps on the road.

This follows the article, Measures for traffic calming needed, week ending 30 October, in which a frustrated resident requested that traffic calming measures be put in place to reduce reckless driving along the road.

“I have engaged with the Metro police Speed Enforcement Unit who assessed the road and [will] hopefully put some speed enforcement in place this week, provided there is a safe space to pull vehicles over that are speeding,” said Potter.

He added that residents should not expect the enforcement to last longer than a few days because the unit was in big demand.
