A bright future ahead for Sandton CPF

WOODMEAD – The Sandton Community Police Forum (CPF) recently hosted a community meeting in association with Sandton police at the Country Club Johannesburg in Woodmead.

 

Yogi Govender, the forum’s administrative assistant, said the meeting was successful and very well attended by community members.

Anthony Modena, the chairperson of the forum, outlined strategies and plans for the future of the Sandton CPF. He also introduced the subforum chairperson and portfolio representatives, who each presented on their sector subforums and portfolios.

Brigadier Alan Billings, the station commander of Sandton Police Station, presented the annual crime statistics. Govender explained that the statistics presented by Billings indicated that there had been a decrease in crime within the precinct.

Colonel Guy Kilian, head of Sandton detectives, then gave a report on the Sandton police’s success in arrests and the conviction of suspects.

“Security companies, Metro police, the community and all other role players who have been responsible for ensuring and enhancing our security in Sandton were acknowledged and thanked,” added Govender.
