Robbers gate crash a children’s party at the Sandton Fire Station

SANDTON – Robbers gate-crashed a children’s party at the Sandton Fire Station on 31 October.

 

According to EWN , a group of about 35 children and 40 adults were held at gunpoint during the party and jewellery and other valuables were taken from them.

Nana Radebe, spokesperson for Johannesburg Emergency Services confirmed that a party was held on 31 October at about 3pm at the station when robbers arrived and robbed people of their belongings.

“The firemen were alerted and the police were then called,” explained Radebe. “We’ve had no security problems prior to this incident. The Bramley police are investigating the incident and we’ll take it from there.”

It is alleged that the victims tried to call 10111 three times, but the calls were never picked up.

It is further alleged that the CCTV cameras on the premises were not working during the robbery.

No comment was received from the Bramley police in time for publication.
