South African Guide-Dogs Association to host annual charity golf day

JOBURG - South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind will host a Charity Golf Day on 13 November at Ebotse Golf and Country Estate in Benoni.

COMPANION: Sisanda Msekele and her beloved guide dog at one of the organisation's fundraising events.

Golfers are invited to join the association to help raise much-needed funds for the training of guide, service and autism support dogs.

According to Alson Maphosa, the association also seeks to raise enough funds for a platinum dog sponsorship of R80 000. This is what it costs the association to train one dog, he said.

The golf day includes the following options:

4-Ball – R3 000
Hole sponsorship – R3 000
Combo deal (4-ball and hole sponsorship) – R5 000 which includes halfway house and evening meal
Scoring – 4-Ball alliance using Stableford scoring.
