Bryanston business robbed, police investigate

BRYANSTON – A 38-year-old business owner recently reported a break-in at his Bryanston-based shop to Sandton police.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Sandton police, said the business owner arrived at his shop one morning and found that his back door had been broken into. “When he entered the shop, he found that his DVD player worth R18 000 was missing,” added Maphakela.

According to Maphakela, the business owner confirmed locking all the doors and closing all the windows the night before. The total value of the stolen items, as well as the cost of the damaged property, is estimated at R25 000.

No arrests have been made, however, the police have identified a possible suspect, a 22-year-old man, and investigations are ongoing.
