Bramley police hunt copper cables suspect and accomplice

MARLBORO – The Bramley police need assistance from the community in nabbing a suspect linked to a business robbery in Marlboro.

The suspect, Lungisani Sibonelo Sibiya, was allegedly involved in the robbery where he was formerly employed. According to Bramley police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, Sibiya allegedly committed the crime in December last year with the aid of a security guard.

“It is alleged that on the night of the incident, a security guard was on duty. Footage showed the suspect breaking and entering the premises,” he said.

Sibiya then allegedly proceeded to steal copper cables and was assisted by the same guard on duty. The two have since been on the run and Maphakela appealed to community members to come forward with any information that could lead to Sibiya and his accomplice’s arrest.
