Morningside Country Club hosts braai day

MORNINGSIDE - The Morningside Country Club celebrated Heritage Day through a very special braai day on 24 September.

The club saw local residents and members from all the different sports departments come together to enjoy a drink, a wonderful braai and exciting conversation while soaking up the sun on the beautiful club grounds.

Member of the club’s social committee, Lauren Michel, said the annual event gives attendees the opportunity to bring food to braai and enjoy the company of their fellow club members. She added, “It’s also an opportunity to see friends who are involved in the club, or others who are thinking of joining and making new friendships through the club.”

President of the Morningside Country Club, John Mcleod, said the braai day acted as a way to display their facilities and friendly members, adding that the club is ‘the best-kept secret in Sandton’.

Mcleod said the importance of celebrating Heritage Day at the club was to create a greater involvement by the local community. He added, “We want these braais and family days to show everyone who we are and that we’re a family friendly club.”

The event ran throughout the day with all in attendance enjoying a drink from the bar while dancing to rock band, Bite’s, infectious grooves.
