Two men arrested for being in possession of illegal blue lights

JOBURG - Two men were arrested on Corlett Drive in Melrose for having illegal blue lights attached to their vehicle on 4 September.

According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela of Bramley Police Station, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department were conducting a routine stop and search when they discovered two males driving a white Mercedes-Benz with blue lights attached.

Maphakela said, “The suspects were arrested and detained at Bramley Police Station. One of the suspects was granted bail, however, the other was denied bail as he had an outstanding warrant of arrest by Pretoria Central Police Station.” According to Maphakela, the suspect who was remanded in custody has multiple charges against him for various offences.

The suspects are due to appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court soon facing charges of impersonating police officers.
